His talent is pure and terribly entertaining."
- Michele Rhea Caplinger, Executive Director of the Recording Academy, Atlanta

"Dave Bass is jazz music's most extraordinary secret. A virtuoso on multiple instruments,
(with particular emphasis on his haunting sax), Dave combines instrumental mastery
with vocal skills that, alone, have driven the careers of many world-renowned performers.
It is only a matter of time before Dave is no longer Atlanta's best-kept secret!”
- Connie Zerden, Vice President & General Manager, Showtime Networks, Inc.

"Listening to him, I hear an exuberant lover, a wise old pal, a lonely figure on a park bench.
He's a man with Sinatra in his voice and silver in his fingers."
- Todd Leopold, Entertainment Producer - CNN

"Dave Bass is a singer inspired by Frank Sinatra and Ray Charles
and a tenor-saxophonist whose tone recalls Dexter Gordon."
- Scott Yanow, jazz historian and author

"The Dave Bass Quartet not only performs a hefty Sinatra repertoire, it also evokes a mélange of musical tastes,
including Latin tempos, swinging jazz tunes, R&B riffs and funkified rhythms.
Versatility like this almost guarantees a spotlight."
- Kenneth Rollins, Atlanta Journal-Constitution

"The hardest working man in the jazz business."
- Charles Driebe, Manager, The Blind Boys of Alabama

Tasty stuff."

- Mark Garber, Dance-GA

Dave Bass has been a leader in the Atlanta music scene since the 80s with his first band "Quintessence."
After a period of freelancing with a variety of ensembles, big bands as well as small jazz, blues and soul combos;
in 1991 he formed The Dave Bass Quartet and quickly became one of the most popular bands in the Southeast.

The Dave Bass Quartet originated many of Atlanta's iconic music nights, including:
Jazz at the High ('93)
Jazz at the Red Light Cafe ('93)
Fernbank's Martini, IMAX and Jazz Nights ('97)
The Leopard Lounge ('98)
Apres Diem music ('00)

The Dave Bass Quartet specializes in jazz, blues, Latin styles and classic pop/rock.
We have performed thousands of gigs in clubs, festivals, private functions and weddings.
Clients often cite our classic repertoire and style and ability to play rooms at an appropriate volume level.

Dave has also managed and emceed music festivals, including music stage for The Virginia-Highlands Summerfest ('96-'99),
booked talent for clubs and installed sound systems and sound conditioning in a number of venues.

In 2008, Dave moved to Los Angeles and became deeply immersed in the art of Studio Recording.
He has been blessed to apprentice under some of the finest engineers in the world, including:
Andy Zane of Sound City (Rolling Stones, Guns N’ Roses, Cannonball Adderley);
John Rhys of Hollywood Sound Recorders (Bonnie Raitt, Warren Zevon, Pat Benetar, Eddie Harris, Joe Sample, The "Wrecking Crew"), and
Matt Forger of Westlake Studios (Michael Jackson, Quincy Jones, James Ingram, Donna Summer).

During his time in LA, Dave built a world-class recording studio which specialized in capturing real acoustic music;
real musicians playing real instruments in real time - no beats, no pitch-shift, no time-shift, no bull-shift!
In 2015, Dave took his hobby of woodworking to the next level and opened a professional woodshop which built
showrooms, trade show booths, theater sets, (tons of furniture) and and specialty products for Recording Studios:

In 2024, after the passing of his much-loved and cherished mother, Dave moved back to Atlanta.
He is currently setting up his Recording Studio in a beautiful house on a lake (with amazing wildlife!),
has re-formed his classic Quartet and is eager to enrich Atlanta with more great music.
